Centre for Understanding

The Library and Town of Ajax are situated within the traditional and treaty territory of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, signatories of the Gunshot Treaty of 1788 and the Williams Treaties of 1923. This land is, and will continue to be, home to the Indigenous Peoples. 

This virtual Centre of Understanding aims to promote awareness of culture, customs, traditions, and religion amongst residents and visitors to Ajax. We also aim to remove barriers between communities and build mutual understanding.
