The Library is a central meeting place in the community. Library meeting rooms are made available to the general public for a fee when not being used for Library purposes.

Room Rental hours of availability: 

Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Saturday and Sunday: 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Conditions for Library Room Rentals

Please review the Facility Rental Policy prior to contacting the Library about availability and for full terms and conditions of use. 

Refunds

A 90% refund of the booking fee will be made if the booking is cancelled a minimum of seven (7) calendar days in advance. The full amount will be charged if less than seven (7) calendar days notice of cancellation is provided. 

Changes to Space

Furniture, art displays, bulletin boards, counters, and walls may not be removed, altered, or covered in any way. 

Selling/Transactions

The sale of goods is not permitted on Library premises unless prior approval is given by the Library. 

Storage

The Library will not store items or materials in advance of or after any room rental. 

Smoking/Burning

No smoking, lighting of candles, or burning of any other materials is permitted in the Library. 

Alcohol

The renter agrees to abide by the Municipal Alcohol Policy and the Liquor Licenses Act of Ontario, if applicable, and provide Ajax Public Library with a copy of the Special Occasion permit. 

The Library reserves the right to limit or refuse use of facilities at the discretion of the Chief Librarian & Executive Officer.
